Description:

On February 8, 1977, Tony Kiritsis walked into a mortgage broker's office in Indianapolis and attached a shotgun to the man's head. He then spent forty minutes on 911, alternating between calm politeness and angry outbursts and emotional breakdowns. Afterward, Kiritsis led the bound broker through downtown Indianapolis, surrounded by police and reporters who could only observe. Kiritsis held the broker captive for three days while SWAT teams, bomb experts, and the FBI worked to disarm him without causing harm. The standoff ended with a shocking press conference broadcast live on television.
