The Scissors (2003)

Mounir Fatmi, a strong advocate for freedom of expression, explores the topic of sex with sensitivity in his film *Les Ciseaux*. He reassembles censored love scenes from the film *Une minute de soleil en moins*, creating a work that serves as a threefold act of remembrance. It preserves the original, now-obscure film; critiques censorship itself; and offers a meditation on love. The film juxtaposes physical intimacy with the dreams associated with it, with the lovers' memories acting as a narrative force, transitioning between bodies and inner visions.
