Description:
Joey Wellman, an American cartoonist largely unknown in his native Cleveland, travels to Paris with his partner Lena for an exhibition showcasing his work in the French comic strip tradition. He also hopes to reconnect with his daughter Elsie, who has been studying in Paris for two years, seeking refuge from her father's American lifestyle. Elsie is idealistic about French literature and wants to meet Christian Gauthier, a renowned university professor who also enjoys comics. Their reunion is strained, but Elsie agrees to spend the weekend with Joey and Lena at Gauthier's mother Isabelle's country house. At a comic-themed masquerade party, everyone is forced to confront their current and past relationships.
