Description:
Bunny, which premiered at the 2000 Los Angeles Independent Film Festival, follows an Eastern European couple struggling to adjust to American life. Nik (Edyk Dratver) and Luda (Petra Tikalova) arrive in a U.S. city and are housed by Luda's stern Aunt Elise (Elizabeth Liebel). While searching for work, they face constant prejudice. Eventually, they find employment with an unusual public works project: dressing as bunnies to offer anonymous comfort to city residents. Nik, a former lawyer, is repulsed by the job, but Luda embraces it, creating tension and hardship within their marriage as they navigate their new lives.
