Description:
The film is a collection of stories set in a grammar school throughout one school year, focusing on the seventh-grade students. Their common thread is Professor Matulka, an elderly substitute science teacher who, due to excessive conscientiousness, has never completed his state exam and is hesitant to retire without a diploma. His students, while often a handful, rally to his aid when a prank with firecrackers makes him ill. With the help of a young professor, a former student of Matulka's, they devise a plan. Under the guise of replenishing the school's entomology collection, they lure him into taking the exam with the kind Professor Vondrák.
