Description:
In 1680, after a Turkish invasion, the plains of Bácska are deserted. Three former prisoners – Long-Legged, Lame, and One-Eyed – emerge from a ruined church seeking their lost home. They grapple with the question of rebuilding a vanished civilization and their individual responsibilities as survivors. Facing imminent collapse without shelter, an Old Man, a keeper of ancient knowledge, and his daughter arrive, attempting to revive the community by sharing seeds. However, driven by greed, One-Eyed murders the Old Man, assaults his daughter, and kills Long-Legged in a fit of rage while searching for more seeds. The film concludes with the survivors confronting difficult choices and temptations, and their hope for the future resting on the leadership of Lame’s young son.
