Amor (2001)

Escartín's work is distinctive for its disregard of preconceived notions and its pursuit of truth. This is exemplified in the short film *Amor* (Love), a single afternoon interview with a young ex-Israeli soldier. He states the necessity of peace with the Palestinians, despite the history of hatred and war. While his words seem straightforward, a darker undercurrent emerges: he avoids discussing his personal experiences in the conflict, instead alluding to a phenomenon called "kill rush," an addiction developed through killing.
