Description:
BYZANTION is a film in two parts, focusing on the hymn "Agni Parthene" (O Virgin Pure), a central piece of Christian Orthodox tradition. The Greek version was filmed with Archimandrite Nikodimos, a prominent figure in Byzantine music, at the Church of the Annunciation in Neos Kosmos, Athens, Greece. The Church Slavonic version was filmed with the Brothers Choir of Valaam Monastery, situated on Valaam Island in Lake Lagoda, north of St. Petersburg.
