Trace of Breath (2017)

This documentary follows Sato Teiichi as he rebuilds his life after the devastating Tohoku earthquake and tsunami that destroyed his seed shop in Rikuzentakada City. Directed, filmed, and edited by Komori Haruka in her feature film debut, the film chronicles Sato's daily efforts to rebuild everything from his home and shop – including constructing a prefab building and digging a well – to crafting his own signage. He also documents his experiences during the disaster in a diary written in self-taught English.
