Eleven-year-old Alex, raised in California and the son of a well-known politician, journeys to Crete to be the godfather of a local party leader's child. This is his first time as a godfather, and he wants to prove himself to everyone, especially his father. His unfamiliarity with Greece, the unique customs of the Cretans, and the challenges he faces in gaining acceptance as the Chief's son create a comedy with political undertones, moments of existential questioning, and a blend of humor and pathos.
