Fascination (2006)

To move forward, we often rely on the work of others – a photograph, a phrase, a gesture. Colin Campbell helped me take that next step, so I started using a video camera. His images were my inspiration, and my camera accompanied his. Through his depictions of the past and my own, Colin Campbell became a Cold War artist, fighting the conflict with stereo sound. Yes, a stereo artist! The most compelling moments were the images I reviewed each morning after the work was finished, while others like me slept.
