Description:
Inspired by Walter Benjamin's writings, the film explores a past epidemic that fundamentally altered the world. Initially, the cities along the river were affected by an unknown contagion, leading to a slow, pervasive transformation of everything around them – animals, plants, landscapes, and people, including their memories and dreams. An old woman speaks of memories becoming trees, and the trees themselves singing of existence. After the contagion subsided, the cities seemed normal, but subtle traces of the past remained. The film questions whether listening to the transformed trees might reveal a path forward, an escape from what has been.
