Description:
In Melbourne, Australia, on April 6, 1966, approximately 200 people – students, staff, and residents – witnessed an unusual event in the suburb of Westall. A silver-grey, disc-shaped object hovered above for several minutes before briefly landing and then ascending and disappearing. Witnesses described it as low-flying and shiny, resembling a "cup on a saucer," accompanied by five light aircraft. A large group of students rushed from school to follow the object. Many reported seeing a circular patch of flattened grass where it had landed. Some claimed to have touched the site during takeoff. Uniformed men were observed cordoning off the area and removing soil samples. Later that day, some reported seeing the area being illuminated with torches. The incident was widely reported on television news and in local newspapers.
