In the village of T'boli, South Cotabato, video documentarian Chris seeks to escape his troubled past while profiling T'boli women and their evolving perspectives on multiple marriages. The wealthy men, known as Datu, traditionally marry several times, offering dowries to the families of their brides. When a young woman named Ngapon asks Chris to help her break free from an arranged marriage and pursue a life in Manila, he is forced to confront the demons he left behind in the city. Like the Datu with his many wives, Chris has Denver, a man in Manila who openly embraces multiple relationships. Ngapon's fight for freedom unravels Chris's own painful history.
