Description:
In 1957, the Cold War enters a new phase: the race to space. The Soviet Union launches Sputnik, the first artificial object to orbit Earth, sparking the "Space Race." Three years later, Yuri Gagarin becomes the first human in space, seemingly giving the Soviets the upper hand. In 1961, President Kennedy announces the ambitious goal of landing an American astronaut on the Moon, launching the Apollo Project. This requires developing a spacecraft capable of withstanding Earth's gravity, landing on the lunar surface, and safely returning the crew. Motion Designer Christian collaborated with his brother and Composer Wolfgang for 18 months to create this short film. The project utilized thousands of original NASA photographs from the Apollo missions, released in September 2015, employing various animation techniques to bring these stills to life.
