During the fireworks celebrating the Resurrection, a past, troubling connection between Luan and Thymios is rekindled. They represent opposing worlds: the outsider and the local, the non-believer and the devout, the quiet and the passionate. The story culminates in a dramatic event involving Harris, a child immigrant of mixed Albanian and Greek heritage, who is both Christian and Muslim. The village is prominent and central to the unfolding events.
