Act of Faith (2002)

For centuries, love between men has existed within Islam. However, Islamic tradition prohibits same-sex marriage. The film follows Kyriell, the son of an Imam, as he grapples with his feelings for men and his faith, ultimately returning to Islam. Arslan, raised in Pakistan, finds no middle ground between his sexuality and his religion, leading him to reject Islam. Iftekar, a Muslim community leader, acknowledges the need for Islam to adapt to modern times. Through their stories, the film explores the challenges faced by gay Muslims.
