Solitary Land (2017)

Easter Island, one of the world's most isolated landmasses, lies in the Pacific Ocean, 3,680 kilometers from Chile. For centuries, it has been home to the Polynesian Rapa-Nui people. Since the 18th century, European colonization, archaeological visits, and tourism drawn by the island's iconic moai statues have shaped its history. A stable population and local administration now manage the community's affairs, including justice. The existence of a prison on this remote island, where escape is challenging, presents a strange contradiction.
