Description:
In 1966, CBC Television brought together some of North America's finest blues musicians for three-day recording sessions in a Toronto studio. The footage, originally broadcast as part of the CBC "Festival" series, has now been restored and re-edited. The legendary Muddy Waters and his band perform "You Can't Lose What You Never Had" and "Got My Mojo Workin'," featuring James Cotton on harmonica for the latter. Willie Dixon delivers a solo performance of "Bassology" and, with modern technology, performs "Crazy for My Baby" alongside host Colin James. The film also features rare performances by Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee, Mable Hillery singing "How Long This Train Been Gone," and delta blues pianist Sunnyland Slim, introducing a new generation to this powerful music.
