Description:
Life has passed Mane by. At 50, he witnesses the fading of his principles. His wife, Lucy, has confined him to a monotonous routine. His job at a local shop and grocery has exhausted him. His aspirations have vanished in the quiet disappointment of Mindelo. Once a celebrated football player for Mindelense in Cape Verde, he now receives only the sympathetic words of friends, neighbors, and cafe regulars: "He was important," "He was the goalkeeper in Cape Verde," "He could have played for Benfica!" Mane resists the decline of his former glory. Coaching a young team, he sees echoes of his younger self in KALU, a spirited but gifted player. Haunted by memories of his own lost potential – love, opportunities, and wasted passion – he finds himself drawn back to the game. Benfica, his former club, invites him to participate in the Portuguese Cup Final.
