Description:
This documentary focuses on Oona King, a former Labour MP. As only the second black woman to hold that position and a popular figure known as one of the 'Blair Babes', her backing of the Iraq War strained her relationship with her Muslim constituents in East London. This ultimately resulted in her loss to George Galloway of the anti-war Respect Party in the 2005 election. King commissioned her childhood friend Nora Meyer to film this story, but Meyer, who also opposed the war, questions whether her friend's early passion for radicalism has faded. (Storyville)
