Description:
This comedic, episodic film uses improvisation to explore the contrast between fantasy and everyday life. Inspired by Mekas' "Hallelujah the Hills" (1962), it’s a distinctly Israeli satire that playfully mocks the sacred myths of earlier Zionist cinema with its rebellious and individualistic spirit. The film employs a story within a story to show cinema as a reflection of imagination, a miracle born from dreams that become real – mirroring the miracle of Israel itself, a dream realized. Though not commercially successful, it remains a uniquely important, boldly unconventional, and subversive experiment from a time of strong patriotic and ideological sentiment.
