Ektemann alene (1956)

Midsummer in Oslo. Pier 1 is bustling as a fjord boat prepares to leave, filled with families heading to the countryside and those staying behind. Mrs. Rigmor Sande and her children are already on board. Her husband, Per Sande, is desperately searching for their missing suitcase just as the boat is ready to depart. Ellen Stenersen, a lively 21-year-old, jokes that they can leave their husband behind, but not their luggage. She and Per are left on the pier, old neighbors from the countryside. Per embraces the freedom of Oslo with his friend Stoffer, and Ellen joins them. As they experience the city's temptations, Per and Ellen develop a strong connection.
