Description:
Rosie Perreira, a deeply anxious widow, lives with her son Sabhi, who is passionate about his guitar, and her daughter Nancy. Rosie hopes Nancy will marry a wealthy man. Her neighbor Tom introduces Nancy to the eligible Tony Braganza on the 9:10 AM train from Bandra to Churchgate. Tom also asks Nancy to introduce Tony to Rosie, which she does. Rosie is initially doubtful because of Tony's lower salary compared to Nancy's, but changes her mind upon learning of his potential for a higher income. Nancy and Tom are allowed to spend time together and fall in love. While Nancy wants to follow her mother’s wishes and marry, Tony hesitates. This causes Nancy to doubt his commitment to the marriage, and she begins to lose affection for him. Soon, Rosie starts seeking other potential sons-in-law, while Tony remains unwilling to make any promises.
