Jarre in China is the first THX certified concert filmed in High Definition. The concert marks the start of China's "Year of France." Jean Michel Jarre returns to China after performing there in 1981, a landmark event as the first Western musician to play since the revolution, and his Hong Kong concert in 1994. The performance was captured live in 5.1 Surround Sound and broadcast to over 1 billion Chinese viewers. Jarre was joined by 260 musicians, including the Beijing Symphony Orchestra, the Chinese National Orchestra, the Beijing Opera Chorus, and prominent Chinese rock artists. The DVD includes audio commentaries by Jean Michel Jarre in French and English, a 52-minute documentary titled "Jean Michel Jarre in the Footsteps of the Last Emperor," a 9-minute documentary "Freedom of Speech" featuring Cui Jian, a photo gallery, and a biography of Jean Michel Jarre.
