Description:
A man abandons a successful career and a close family, seeking solitude at a local train station. He refuses to leave, even as a psychiatrist and his son try to reach him. Days are spent observing the station's passengers. A TV reporter hopes to find a story that will save his job. The man is drawn to the reporter's wife, part of a pattern of pursuing women. He becomes fascinated by his wife’s husband and plans a program about him. When the TV crew arrives, he attempts to evade them, ultimately ending up on the station roof. There, he sees a moment of sunlight – a "smaller sky" – before falling to his death through a glass roof.
