Fish Never Sleep (2004)

A woman recounts her experience. She's struggling with sleeplessness. She works at a sushi restaurant in a coastal town. The film follows the rhythm of the city: fishing boats returning, fish being sorted and sold, then processed at the factory. At the restaurant, live fish swim in tanks. Exhausted, she tries everything to find rest, but nothing works. Two weeks into this struggle, late one night, she speeds away on her scooter and enters a world of revelation. Will sleep and understanding offer a solution? BAFTA winner.
