Description:
Lilly Borchert, eager to begin her medical studies, joins the Navy as a medical officer, envisioning a life of travel and opportunity. However, she quickly discovers the demanding realities of naval life under Captain Krug, where camaraderie is hard-won and friendships elusive, especially with the challenging Cadet Klara. Lilly documents her experiences – marked by exhaustion and physical discomfort – in a diary, marking down the days until she can return home to her family. During a night watch, a devastating accident occurs, and Lilly falls overboard. Despite a search of the frigid waters, she is lost. The film explores the events leading up to this tragedy and the circumstances surrounding Lilly's disappearance.
