Description:
Rae Smith, a woman with big dreams, connects with handsome Marine Paul Saxon in Lincoln, Nebraska, as he returns from World War II. They share an undeniable attraction, but he departs before they can build anything. Rae later discovers he's married. She pursues her ambition to become a fashion designer in New York and achieves considerable success. There, she unexpectedly encounters Paul again, and their connection reignites, though he remains married. Seeking respite, Rae relocates to Rome to establish her business. She meets Paul there as well, and they finally begin an affair, complicated by his unyielding wife, Liz. Their relationship continues in secret until Paul's son discovers the affair, threatening Rae's carefully constructed life.
