Description:
The Merchant (Harvey Keitel) is a respected merchant from the East, trading precious stones from Afghanistan and Turkey. He appears beyond reproach. However, the "Stone Merchant" secretly converted to Islam. Wealthy, sophisticated, and intriguing, he encounters Leda (Jane March), a high-powered public relations executive married to Alceo, a professor specializing in terrorist history. Alceo is now confined to a wheelchair after losing his legs in the 1998 American Embassy bombing in Nairobi. Shahid is a terrorist planning an attack near the English Channel. Their lives intersect in Turkey, where Leda and Alceo are vacationing, and the story unfolds across Rome and Turin, culminating in the ferry boat attack.
