Josefine Mutzenbacher owns a business called "Artists' Paradise." Dr. Hofbauer surprises the customers with a performance, leading to an orgy. Josefine and her women go on a picnic, where they meet a group of hunters. One of them, Herr Kirchner, tells Josefine that his son Loisl is traveling to Vienna to learn carpentry and sends him to live with her. Josefine and Annie give Loisl a thorough lesson. He then apprentices with Meister Wehringer, who has a curious sixteen-year-old daughter named Maria. Loisl recounts his time with Josefine and tries to teach Maria himself, but Wehringer catches them. Wehringer fires Loisl, threatening to inform his father. Desperate, Loisl seeks out Josefine.
