retrograd – a reverse chronology of the medical films made at the Berlin hospital Charité between 1900-1990 (2000)

From the beginning of cinema to the closure of its Film Institute, Berlin's Charité hospital created around 1000 educational, explanatory, and experimental scientific films. There's no complete film history of the hospital; only scattered pieces remain – notes, articles, a few photographs, and some surviving films. How can a story be told when the record is incomplete, existing only in fragmented images and documents with many missing parts?
