Description:

Produced by Bill Kong and based on the award-winning novel *One Sentence Worth Ten Thousand* by Liu Zhenyun, this film explores loneliness and alienation in modern China. The novel, which won the Mao Dun Literature Prize in 2008, centers on a divorced woman and her married younger brother. This is the feature film debut for acclaimed short filmmaker Liu Yulin, who is adapting her father’s work. A graduate of New York University, Liu's short film *Door God* (2014) received a silver medal at the Student Academy Awards and was selected for Cannes.
