Description:
In World War II, Switzerland tightly restricted refugees, claiming they were at capacity. A train from Germany stops briefly in a remote part of the country. Six people disembark, seeking asylum: four Jews, a French child, and a German soldier. They find temporary shelter with a couple who own a village inn, posing as a family – the deserter as the husband, the woman as his wife, an elderly man from Vienna as her father, and his granddaughter and the French boy as their children. The woman's teenage brother pretends to be a soldier. However, their carefully constructed lie begins to fall apart through unforeseen circumstances and the thorough investigation of the local constable. Who will the Swiss allow to stay? And who will be deported?
