Description:
TEN THOUSAND WAVES is a nine-screen installation filmed in China. It poetically connects stories from China’s ancient history to the present day. The work uses an architectural installation to examine the movement of people across borders and reflects on journeys that remain incomplete. Developed over four years, TEN THOUSAND WAVES features Julien collaborating with prominent Chinese artists, including Maggie Cheung, Zhao Tao, Wang Ping, Gong Fagen, Yang Fudong, Zhao Xiaoshi, and a cast and crew of 100. The film’s original music is composed by Jah Wobble and The Chinese Dub Orchestra, alongside Maria de Alvear.
