Description:
Iqbal doesn't pray or read the Quran. He begins to repent after feeling guilty for upsetting his mother and enrolls in a religious school in Tegal Jadin. For two months, his only task is fetching water from a pond. Frustrated, he angrily confronts the pond before meeting Aisyah, the daughter of the school's head and granddaughter of a respected religious figure. Fearing the head's disapproval, Iqbal flees. He finds help from Pricilia, a compassionate Christian girl who provides him with lodging. Ultimately, Iqbal chooses to live with Ms. Jamilah, a poor beggar raising her two children, Fatimah and Irsyad, as he pursues his studies of Islam, facing numerous obstacles along the way.
