Description:
In 1983, a fifteen-year-old Jewish boy from Haifa was kidnapped, murdered, and sexually assaulted. Five Arab men who worked at a local supermarket were convicted and sentenced to life in prison, with additional sentences of 27 years. The convictions rested solely on their confessions and reconstructions of the crime. Seventeen years later, the defendants maintain their innocence. "The Reconstruction" details the police investigation and legal proceedings, focusing on the original videotaped reconstructions of the murder, where the defendants confessed to their guilt.
