Description:
At the start of the 20th century, Latvia looked towards a bright future. A growing sense of national pride empowered farmers to challenge their former overseers. Rudups, a wealthy and proud veteran of the Kaiser's army who has long been a problem for the local Baron, is unexpectedly captivated by a young farm girl named Emily. He’ll do anything to win her affection, but she is in love with his godson, Karlis. The story unfolds amidst a backdrop of wealth, betrayal, and the Baron's disregard for the law. The ensuing struggle between two relatives for Emily's heart dramatically alters the lives of all three, offering the girl a chance at happiness.
