Yohji Yamamoto: This Is My Dream (2011)

"This is My Dream" commemorates the 10th anniversary of Yohji Yamamoto's Y-3 line for adidas. The documentary follows the designer as he develops the Y-3 Spring/Summer 2010 collection, traveling from Tokyo to New York. While the collection serves as a focus, the film explores Yamamoto's personal reflections and inspirations, including his fascination with darker themes. Intimate moments, like Yamamoto playing guitar, are also included. Directed by Stanley, this is the first major look at the designer since 1989's "Notebooks on Cities and Clothes," offering insight into his evolution and the brand's development over the past two decades.
