Description:
In the diverse suburb of MoVal, California, James finds solace in playing guitar while avoiding his emotionally volatile single father, whose preoccupation with fantasy baseball and relationships makes him difficult to be around. When tenth grade starts at Vista Christian High School, James reconnects with Abe, a rebellious student whose disruptive behavior brings trouble to both of them and irritates their strict principal, Mr. Durante. James is also trying to win over Carla, a girl he likes, but Abe's wild actions threaten his chances. The situation escalates when Principal Durante punishes them by making them perform at the weekly chapel assembly.
