Description:
Public prosecutor Paul Berthier witnesses a young girl accidentally drown in the Charente River and chooses not to intervene. When the death begins to appear suspicious, the case falls to him. Berthier soon suspects Guillaume Vauban, the wealthy son of a local industrialist and the girl's former boyfriend, and becomes caught in a network of deceit as he builds the case against him, leading to Guillaume’s arrest. Uncertain about his own morality, Berthier supports the judge's decision to keep Guillaume in custody. Driven by fear of scandal, Berthier prioritizes his reputation, even as he descends into a dangerous abuse of power.
