Vlado, partially paralyzed by polio, is confined to his apartment and dependent on his younger wife, Alma, for everything. Alma lovingly cares for him, never losing hope for his recovery. However, Vlado feels weakened and ashamed, losing the will to improve. Despite their affection, his self-loathing causes him to push Alma away. Haunted by increasingly vivid visions of a centaur, Alma explores desperate solutions as the mythical creature’s presence grows stronger. Vlado resolves to end his suffering, burying the paralyzed part of himself and awaiting a miracle. Alma, though heartbroken, faithfully carries out his request. As dawn breaks, something extraordinary occurs.
