Description:
On a Sunday evening, residents of a small town gather to check the lottery results posted on a board. Karel Antos is frustrated to find his ticket missed the main prize – a car – by a single number. He heads to the pub with his friend Jirka Broz to drown his sorrows. The elderly accountant Zelinka drops his wallet, which Karel retrieves. Inside, Karel discovers the winning lottery ticket and swaps it with his own. The next day, Zelinka is found dead. Captain Tuma and Lieutenant Líbal, the investigators, quickly realize it’s not an accident but a murder, concealed as such.
