Description:
In a poor neighborhood of Mexico City, a traveling circus troupe led by Don Ramón and his wife Petra takes in the daughter of a neighbor imprisoned for drug trafficking. Petra puts five-year-old Flea to work with household chores, and Flea befriends Pepito, a street clown. Trouble arises when a sinister visitor takes an interest in Petra. A confrontation between the adults results in Flea's accidental death, leading Petra to consider a desperate solution: using Flea's body for tamales sold to earn a living.
