Description:
On August 10, 1978, a coffeehouse popular with leftist individuals in Ankara was raided, a tragedy that highlighted the government's inability to prevent such events. Shortly after the Balgat Massacre, police detained numerous young nationalists in nearby areas suspected of involvement. Among those arrested was Mustafa Pehlivanoğlu, then a 20-year-old. His detention initiated a legal struggle for his parents, Zeynep and Ahmet Bey. Years later, Mustafa Pehlivanoğlu was sentenced to death by a court established after the September 12th military coup and executed without his parents ever being informed.
