Description:
In early Joseon Korea, the women of Maewol-dang, a renowned gisaeng house outside Hanyang, are the most beautiful in the land. Madame Wol-gi oversees a group of captivating gisaengs, including Nok-su, Chunhyang, and Sim-cheong. A gathering is held when Wol-hyang's long-time lover, Lord Park Pan-seo, returns to Hanyang after eight years. Driven by jealousy of Madame Wol-gi, Nok-su plots to seduce Lord Park and seize control. One rainy night, a Japanese geisha named Namikko arrives at Maewol-dang seeking Wol-hyang. The following morning, a male servant named Dol-se is found dead, stabbed with a hairpin belonging to Chunhyang, causing chaos within the house. Lord Lee Joon-ki, Wol-hyang's nephew, arrives to recuperate.
