Anya du Plessis travels from New York to Philadelphia, South Africa, hoping to mend her strained relationship with her father, Marius, and assist with his failing farm. She discovers his coping mechanism for his wife's death is an intense focus on his beer brewing, which he believes will solve their financial problems. Leaving New York means leaving behind Jacob, her boyfriend and colleague, but Anya unexpectedly finds herself drawn to Ruan, a charming stranger. Ruan is on a mission for his brewing company: to find a new winning beer recipe for a major competition. Marius' farm and unique brew are the key to his success, but Anya stands in his way.
