My Technicolor Girl (2016)

Nagano has suffered from a lifelong heart condition and spent 40 years hospitalized in a Fukushima mental institution. During the evacuation following the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, he decides to leave, believing himself fully recovered. Having been hospitalized since his teens until his fifties, his experience mirrors that of Urashima Taro, a Japanese fisherman who returned from an underwater world to find everything changed. For the first time in decades, Nagano's heart is filled with a desire to see the woman he loves. He discovers she's in Tokyo, living with her son and daughter-in-law, and sets off on a bicycle to find her.
