Description:
After a near-fatal car accident, a folk musician named Quimby covers a song by a pop icon, adding a motif from a small Romanian folk band. The result is Hungary's biggest hit in a decade. Quimby's alternative rock band had paused in 2003 when their singer went to rehab. Upon returning, he wrote "Broken Glass Paradise" about his recovery, but it didn’t gain immediate traction. Years later, the Hungarian Csík Band covered the song, turning it into a massive success. The band, formed in 1988 by János Csík, became known for covering pop and rock songs using folk instruments. Their version of "Broken Glass Paradise," featuring a Transylvanian folk element, garnered over 15 million views on YouTube, with many believing it was an original folk song.
