Description:
This witty and respectful documentary spotlights three Belgian filmmakers who consistently pursue ambitious projects despite limited resources and little mainstream recognition. Director Frederic Sojcher profiles Max Naveaux, a projectionist who makes realistic war films with the unusual approval of the Belgian Ministry of Defense to use live ammunition in one. Schoolteacher Jacques Hardy creates everything from film noir to horror and comic book adventures, often starring his friend Christian Vranken, a church caretaker who insists on approving all female casting choices. And Jean-Jacques Rousseau, a dedicated surrealist, maintains an air of mystery by insisting on being interviewed while wearing a ski mask.
